Welcome to Matala Crete - the place of spectacular sunsets, a small fishing village where the caves became a paradise for the "hippies" in the 70's. The hippies are missing, but Matala magic still flows and the village has been spruced up - well done!

We are very excited for having the opportunity to guide you in Matala Crete, Greece and in our hotel. We believe that Matala is one of the most beautiful places on Earth, and we are really happy to be here.

We speak Greek, English and also understand a little German. The best part of our job is the opportunity we have to meet people from many different countries. We often organize "International" nights where people cook something traditional from their home country and we share it all together with good wine and a lot of fun. Dear Elena,

We would like to thank you for the wonderful holiday we spent in July at beautiful Dimitris Villa. The food was superb and service beyond comparison. our daughter still remembers every guest we met.

The only regret we had that our holiday had come to an end which we did not want.

See you once again in next summer for a longer holiday.

Imbros Gorge
Imbros is every bit as spectacular as Samaria gorge, but on a smaller scale.Here also you can walk on one of the ancient pathways of Crete, unchanged for centuries.The path meanders along the dry streamed under the oaks, cypresses and wild olive trees, between the aromatic shrubs.

Chania-Rethimno-Kournas
Chania is the old capital of Crete and has a distinct Venetian influence with its lovely hurbour and beautiful architecture. Chania is great for shopping and if you are buying presents and souvenirs this excursion is for you.There is the famous Leather Lane, the gold and jewellery shops of Halidon street and the busy Chania market, all a few minutes walk of each other.

Samaria Gorge
What can we say about Samaria Gorge! It is 18 Km long reputedly the longest in Europe and the walk that we take leads us through some of the most breathtaking scenery on the island.
There are ancient forests of pine and cypress, rare plants, soaring eagles and the stunning White Mountains.
